Payroll Services

PAYE payroll run right, every time — payslips, RTI and pensions handled.

Payroll has to be right and on time, every single time — employees notice immediately, and HMRC penalties for late Real Time Information (RTI) filing add up fast. Our managed payroll service takes it off your plate entirely: we calculate the pay, produce the payslips, file with HMRC and keep you compliant.

We run PAYE payroll for small businesses and employers across London, Finchley, Enfield and the surrounding areas — from a single director to growing teams.

What our payroll service includes

  • Weekly, fortnightly or monthly payroll runs
  • Payslips, P45s, P60s and starter/leaver processing
  • Real Time Information (RTI) submissions to HMRC
  • PAYE and National Insurance calculations
  • Workplace pension auto-enrolment and re-enrolment
  • Director and small-business payroll set up tax-efficiently

Auto-enrolment pensions handled

Every employer has automatic-enrolment duties. We assess your workforce, enrol eligible staff, manage contributions and handle the ongoing declarations — so you meet your Pensions Regulator obligations without the admin.

CIS returns for construction

If you work in construction we handle the Construction Industry Scheme too — verifying subcontractors, calculating deductions, producing statements and filing monthly CIS returns so you stay compliant and your subcontractors are paid correctly.

What a pay run involves, step by step

  • You send us hours, starters, leavers and changes by an agreed cut-off before payday
  • We calculate gross pay, tax, National Insurance, pension contributions and any statutory pay or deductions
  • Payslips are issued to your employees electronically
  • We file the Full Payment Submission with HMRC on or before each payday, as Real Time Information requires
  • You receive a summary of what to pay each employee, the pension provider and HMRC, and when
  • At the tax year end we complete the final submission and issue P60s; leavers receive P45s as they go

Employer costs and rules for 2026/27

Employer National Insurance is 15% on each employee’s earnings above the secondary threshold of £5,000 a year. Most employers can offset up to £10,500 of it through the Employment Allowance, but not a company whose only employee is a single director. We check eligibility and claim it where it applies.

Every employer also has automatic-enrolment duties for eligible jobholders, and minimum wage rates change each April. We apply the new rates from the right pay period and flag any employee whose pay falls below them once hours are taken into account.

Payroll mistakes that lead to penalties

  • Paying staff before the payroll is filed, or filing the Full Payment Submission after payday
  • Treating people as self-employed when the working relationship makes them employees
  • Setting up new starters without their starter information, leaving them on the wrong tax code
  • Missing an employee who has become eligible for auto-enrolment
  • Claiming the Employment Allowance for a company where a single director is the only employee

Each of these can bring HMRC penalties, arrears of tax and National Insurance with interest, or action from The Pensions Regulator, and the employee usually notices before HMRC does.

Moving your payroll to us

Switching is simpler than most employers expect. We need your PAYE reference, each employee’s year-to-date pay and tax, their tax codes, pension scheme details and the dates you pay. We set the payroll up in cloud software, run a parallel check against your last pay run so the figures match, and take over from the next payday. Your employees keep the same payday, and you deal with the same people at every pay run.

Payroll for restaurants, agencies and construction

Some sectors bring their own payroll problems. Restaurants and cafés have variable hours, casual staff and tips to treat correctly. Recruitment agencies often run weekly payroll for temporary workers alongside monthly staff, and must meet the agency worker rules. Construction firms combine PAYE for their own staff with CIS deductions of 20% for registered subcontractors and 30% for unregistered ones, and monthly CIS returns due on the 19th.

Whatever the sector, the payroll fee is agreed in writing before work starts, and your questions are answered by WhatsApp or email rather than a ticket queue.

Frequently asked

How much does payroll cost?

The fee depends on your number of employees and how often you pay them, and it is agreed in writing before work starts. Contact us with your number of employees and pay frequency for a quote.

Can you run payroll for just one director?

Yes. We set up director-only payroll tax-efficiently, file the RTI submissions and produce your payslips and P60 — a common setup for small limited companies.

Do you handle CIS for construction businesses?

Yes. We verify subcontractors with HMRC, calculate the right deductions, issue statements and file your monthly CIS returns, keeping you compliant.

Do you deal with workplace pensions?

Yes — auto-enrolment is included. We assess your staff, enrol those eligible, manage contributions and handle the ongoing Pensions Regulator declarations.

Can my company claim the Employment Allowance?

Most employers can, reducing their employer National Insurance bill by up to £10,500 a year. It is not available to a company whose only employee paid above the secondary threshold is a single director. Once a second employee is on the payroll the position can change, so we review eligibility each year and claim it through payroll where it applies.

Can we switch payroll provider part-way through the tax year?

Yes. There is no need to wait until April. We take over the year-to-date figures for each employee from your current provider or software, continue under the same PAYE reference, and make sure the first Full Payment Submission we file lines up with what HMRC already holds, so employees see no difference except the new payslip layout.
