Your professional and personal goals are central to our consulting services; we take the time to get to know you better so we can offer the best advice.
Management consultancy
Our management consultancy service can review your credit control, stock control, budgeting and financial reporting systems and allow you to take full control of these key areas of your business. We can also help you address specific problem areas in your business such as gross profit, cost control and stock valuation.
Effective management information will allow you to seize opportunities when they arise or identify problems quickly so you can take effective corrective action.
How a consultancy project runs
Every project starts with a conversation about what you want the business to do for you, whether that is more profit, less of your time, or a sale in a few years. We then look at the numbers: management accounts, margins by product or service, how quickly customers pay, and where cash is tied up.
- A diagnostic, with findings set out in writing in plain English
- A short action plan, ranked by how much each change is worth
- Follow-up meetings to check the changes are working, adjusted as the figures come in
The fee is agreed in writing before any work starts.
Problems we are usually asked to solve
Falling margins
Gross profit analysis by product, service or site shows where money is being lost: prices that have not moved with costs, suppliers that have crept up, or work quoted without allowing for time. The fix is usually a small number of pricing and purchasing changes.
Cash tied up in customers and stock
Slow-paying customers and slow-moving stock are the two most common reasons a profitable business runs short of cash. We review credit terms, invoicing and chasing, and stock levels, and set measurable targets.
Rising staff costs
Employer National Insurance is 15% on earnings above £5,000 a year per employee, offset for most employers by the Employment Allowance of £10,500. Before a new hire we work out the full cost and how much extra revenue it needs to pay for itself.
Growth decisions
A second site, a large contract, incorporating, or crossing the £90,000 VAT registration threshold all change the numbers. We model the decision before you commit, so you know the effect on profit, cash and tax.
Who business advisory is for
Our business advisory work is for owner-managed businesses in London: restaurants, retailers, trades and construction firms, agencies, online sellers and professional practices. You do not need a finance team, only the willingness to act on the figures. We advise on your business, its numbers and its tax. We do not give regulated financial advice on investments, pensions or insurance products, and we are happy to work alongside your independent financial adviser where one is involved.

How we work with you
Advice is only as good as the figures behind it, so where the bookkeeping needs work we fix that first. We use Xero, QuickBooks or FreeAgent, stay in touch by WhatsApp or email between meetings, and meet at our Finchley office, at your premises or by video. We work in English, Turkish, Persian and Italian, and because we also prepare accounts and tax returns, the advice we give on pricing, staffing or growth always takes the tax consequences into account.

Frequently asked
How is consultancy different from your management-accounts service?
Management accounts tell you what happened. Consultancy uses those numbers to decide what to do next — pricing, headcount, debt, expansion, exit.
Do you do business valuations?
Yes — for owner-exits, share-buybacks and divorce/probate. We use industry multiples cross-checked against discounted cash flow.
Do you give financial advice on investments or pensions?
No. We advise on your business: its profitability, cash flow, structure and tax. Advice on investments, pension products or insurance is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and should come from an authorised adviser. Where your plans involve those areas, we work alongside your adviser and make sure the tax side of their recommendations fits your business.
What information do you need to start a consultancy project?
Usually your most recent annual accounts, management accounts or bookkeeping access for the current year, a list of what customers owe and what you owe suppliers, and a short description of what you want to change. If the records are not up to date, we bring them up to date first, because decisions made on old figures are rarely the right ones.
