The data we collect about you

Personal data means any information from which you can be identified. It does not include data where your identity has been removed (anonymous data). The only personal data we collect through this website is the information you choose to give us - mainly when you use our contact form or subscribe to our newsletter. This may include:

  • Identity Data - your name and, where relevant, your business name.
  • Contact Data - your email address, telephone number and postal address.
  • Technical Data - basic information such as your IP address and browser type.

We do not collect any special categories of personal data about you (such as data about your race or ethnicity, health, religious or philosophical beliefs, sexual orientation or political opinions), and we do not collect any information about criminal convictions or offences.

How your personal data is collected

We collect personal data directly from you when you complete our contact form, subscribe to our newsletter, email or call us, or otherwise correspond with us. Our website uses only strictly necessary cookies; we do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. Please see our Cookies policy for more detail.

We will only use your personal data when the law allows us to. Most commonly, we will use your personal data:

  • to respond to your enquiry and to discuss or provide the accounting services you have asked us about;
  • to send you our newsletter, if you have asked to receive it;
  • where it is necessary for our legitimate interests in running and improving our business; and
  • where we need to comply with a legal or regulatory obligation.

We only rely on consent as a legal basis for sending you our newsletter by email. You can withdraw that consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us.

Disclosure of your personal data

We do not sell your personal data. We may share it with:

  • service providers based in the UK who help us run our website and email;
  • our professional advisers, based in the UK, where necessary; and
  • HM Revenue & Customs, regulators or other authorities, where the law requires it.

We require all third parties to respect the security of your personal data, to use it only for the purposes we specify, and to treat it in accordance with the law.

International transfers

We do not transfer your personal data outside the UK.

Data security

We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, or used or accessed in an unauthorised way. We limit access to your personal data to those who have a genuine business need to know, and they are subject to a duty of confidentiality. We have procedures to deal with any suspected data breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator where we are legally required to do so.

Data retention

We will only keep your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including to satisfy any legal, accounting or reporting requirements. When we no longer need your data, we will securely delete it.

Your legal rights

Under data protection law, you have the right to:
